Port Blair, May 24: Due to Cyclonic weather conditions around Andaman and Nicobar Islands, two foreign cargo ships have taken shelter near Swaraj Dweep Island.
According to reports, a Malaysian flag Cargo vessel MTT Senporna took shelter on 22nd May while a Tuvalu registered foreign vessel namely MV Pioneer Fortune took shelter yesterday.
It has been learnt from sources that the Malaysian vessel is having 22 crew members, out of which 20 are Chinese & 02 are Malaysian. The vessel reportedly sailed from Port Klang, Malaysia and was going towards Chitagong, Bangladesh.
On the other hand MV Pioneer Fortune sailed from Singapore recently and was going towards Pradip, India.
It has been learnt that as soon as weather clear these vessels will move for their respective destinations but before that a joint interrogation will be carried out by India’s security agencies.
