Port Blair, May 18: Sangeeta Devi, Forest Guard (41st Batch) joined Department of Environment & Forests on 25/02/2008. In her short service carrier, She served in South Andaman Division from 2008 to 2017,Biological Park Chidiyatapu for the period from 2017-2018 and was serving in Middle Andaman Division from June, 2018.
Her sincere and dedication to her profession was incredible and admired by her superiors. On 13/05/2021, the COVID pandemic has taken her away from us. She is survived by Husband and two daughters.
As a mark of respect for her service and a living Tribute to the memory, on today, 18th May, 2021 planting programme by the Executive staffs and Workers was carried out in Morice Dera, where she lastly served as a Beat Officer under Rangat Range of Middle Andaman Forest Division. On this Occasion Mr. Satyaprakash Singh, IFS has appealed the Staffs to rededicate themselves to contribute as a Warrior in this pandemic situation and to strictly follow the COVID-19 protocols. Planting a tree is planting a hope. May the roots of this tree spread strong and grow deep and remind one and all about the dedicated service of a Forester to the Mother Earth.
