Port Blair, Jan 06: The Deputy Commissioner of South Andaman, Mr. Suneel Anchipaka today said that considering reduction in number of COVID-19 cases ,the matter of withdrawal of Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) for Islanders, moving from one Island to another, is under consideration. However, he did not mention any date for this.
“We will take necessary decision in due course only. Because now also one or two cases are coming, so we will take such decision in future course only,” the Deputy Commissioner said.
The Andaman and Nicobar Administration has set up a very high standard in containing the spread of COVID-19 virus and till now the Administration seems to be in a very good position, as far as COVID-19 cases are concerned.
The Administration, however is taking no chances and any decision on withdrawal of RAT, will be taken after detailed discussions with all concerned agencies, it is believed.
