Port Blair, November 22: A man, namely CH Prabhas, 31 years old, a resident of Chunna Bhatta, Port Blair, was brutally attacked with a machete by his elder brother, CH Kamraju, 42 years, on the 19th November 2020 in front of his house.
As per reports, both brothers, fisherman by profession, went fishing 07-08 days back, and they returned from fishing on the afternoon of 19th of November 2020; it’s learned that after selling their catch, both the brothers drank like a fish and went to their home.
According to the eyewitnesses, at around 01:30 pm, the accused reached his younger brother’s house and started shouting at him. The accused also used foul language against his brother, which resulted in an argument between the two.
Out of anger, the elder brother then went to his house, which is just next to the victim’s house, brought a Machete and attacked both the hands of his younger brother, and escaped from the spot after the interference of the family members.
Immediately, the victim was taken to the CHC Bambooflat from where he was later referred to the GB Pant hospital, Port Blair.
After the matter was reported to the police on 20th November 2020, a team of Sub-Inspector Anish Ibrahim and Jeetender Lall started the search of the accused, and with the help of inputs, they arrested the accused in no time near the Bambooflat Jetty.
The entire search operation of the accused was headed by, SI K Ilangovan, Station House Officer, PS Bambooflat, under the overall supervision of SDPO PS Bambooflat, Mr. Kalaivanan.
The machete, other stuff have been seized by the team of police and a case of half murder has been registered against the accused.
As per sources, the accused has a history of crime as in the year 2018, he attacked his daughter for which a case was registered against him in this regard.
