Port Blair, Nov 20: On 19th November 2020 acting on a tip off the team of forest mobile squad consisting of Mr. S.P. Roy Deputy Ranger, Mr. Baiju M. Nair Forester, Mr. Basant Lall, Forest Guard Mr. M.Shabbir, Forest Guard Mr. Anup Mistry, Mr. Ashrafuddin, went to Kalsi village under Urmilapur Panchayat & intercepted a person named Mr. Rajyaswar Baral near veterinary sub-center with a cloth bag in his hand & caught him.
As per reports, after this incident suddenly the accused person threw away his bag & tried to escape but after a hard chase he was again caught.
The cloth bag was searched in which approximately 2 kgs of Andaman wild boar meat was detected & as such the accused was arrested and wildlife produce was seized under relevant sections of Wild life protection act 1972.
The accused was further brought to the Range Office Bakultala along with seized materials & case related documents for further proceedings of the case.
The accused was produced before the magistrate in the court of CJM Mayabunder from where he was remanded under judicial custody for 14 days. The entire operation took place under the guidance of Mr. Vijay Kishen Forest Ranger and under overall direction & Supervision of Mr. Satya Prakash Singh, IFS Divisional Forest Officer, Middle Andaman Forest Division.
Middle Andaman Forest Division has zero tolerance against any offence related to Wildlife or forest and other anti social activities which prevails in the Reserved Forest/Protected areas.
