Port Blair, Nov 06: The District Commissioner, North, and Middle Andaman, Dr. Angel Bhati Chauhan today clarified that there is no need for parents to give Parent’s consent letter regarding COVID-19 to private schools for students on daily basis.
Earlier Andaman Sheekha had learnt that some private schools at North and Middle Andaman are asking student to bring Parent’s consent letter everyday, that parents are sending the students to schools and there is no one in the family who is COVID-19 positive.
The Deputy Commissioner said that if students submit such Parent’s consent letter once there is no need to submit the same everyday in any school.
Regarding this issue the DC also directed the DEO of the region to issue necessary directions to private schools.
However she added that if needed schools may ask Parent’s consent letter again from any student after a gap of two months.
Regarding overall COVID-19 situation the Deputy Commissioner said that the North and Middle Andaman Administration is very effectively handling the situation. She said that initially people of North and Middle Andaman faced some inconvenience due to containment zones but slowly people have realized the importance of such containment zones and there is better awareness now.
She added that because of the cooperation of general public now the number of COVID-19 cases has come down in North and Middle Andaman, which is a good news for people of N & M Andaman region.
