Diglipur, Sept 30: Andaman and Nicobar Police may arrest a few more people in the Elephant Tusk smuggling case. Two pieces of Elephant Tusks were seized in a joint operation by the Central Crime Station and the CID on Friday.
According to reports on Friday at around 2.00 am on a tip off the Forest Officials stopped a car near Restcamp, Mayabunder which is coming from Diglipur and recovered two Elephant Tusks weighing 65 kg. and arrested the occupants Mr. Probir Bala, Mrs. Seema Bala and Sanjay Gain. Further investigation is on.
The Police team and Forest Team are trying to establish whether for these two pieces of Elephant Tusk any Elephant was killed in Andamans.

A&N Police must go into deep investigation to get the main source of such activity and find out the main culprit of this crime. As far as I know that no one has any appropriate data or record of total number of elephants in Andaman Islands. I will highly appreciate if the Police department takes such actions.
