Diglipur, Sept 25: The Diglipur is facing total communication failure these days. Due to burnout of Power module in BSNL Exchange on Friday 21 September, the exchange was totally shut down, even Airtel, Reliance who shares the equipments with BSNL are not working. However Vodafore is working fine in Diglipur.
The banks and ATMs are not functioning since Friday, locals and tourists and business community are fully affected. The land lines which are working for within Diglipur area too are not working since morning today.
Howerver, it is learnt that the staffs bought a Power Module from Shivapuram village of Middle Andaman and are installing since this morning.
Here every now and then there is link failure of BSNL. BSNL being the major telecom company and its service is very poor in these remote islands. Due to the communication failure the remote island was totally cut off from port blair.
