Billyground, June 07: On 02nd June 2020, finding that the new OPD building of PHC Billyground has not been handed over yet to the PHC, the District Commissioner North and Middle Andaman, Mr. Awanish Kumar immediately constituted a team for conducting a joint inspection of the new OPD building of PHC Billyground, with the intention that, required modification as per the doctors can be done and handing over of the building happens right away to the medical department for operations.
On instructions, a joint inspection was conducted on 03.06.2020 at 10 AM in the presence of concerned Doctors, Patwari (Billyground), Dr. PK Mondal, and Junior Engineers (E&M, Civil).
During the inspection, the concerned Doctors have demanded few modifications/ alterations in the building which was not included in the main drawing during the approval by the client department.
Modifications/ alterations proposed by the medical department are, constructing one small water tank for developing the X-Ray films with 03 chambers along with 03 number BIB cocks and dark film covering in the window glass pans for darkness in the darkroom.
The doctors also demaned 03 numbers surgeon type wash basin with elbow operated BIB cocks at X-Ray room, Antenatal Room, Dressing Room.
The doctors’s team also requested 02 numbers of washbasin at Ayush Pharmacy (First Floor) and Pharmacy with dispensary (Ground Floor).
The doctors requested replacement of the recovery room into a changing room with the requirement of cement concrete hand wash chambers of larger depth with elbow operated two numbers BIB cocks and provision of one number aluminum door through the existing hollow block walling to access into the OT room from the changing room at first floor. The team also suggested modification to be done in the lobby area with aluminum panel partitions and door for setting the recovery room after its replacement into the changing room.
With the inputs given by the doctors a proper inspection report with suggestion has been prepared and sent by the inspection committee to the DC North and Middle for further necessary action.
