Port Blair, Apr 04: The Inspector General of Police (Law & Order), Smt. Shalini Singh along with Sh. Rajeev Kumar, Superintendent of Police, Nicobar District visited the isolated polling booths of Nancowrie and Katchal Island on 02/04/2019. During the visit, the IGP interacted with the police personnel and village captains and sought the cooperation of the villagers in ensuring successful completion of the Lok Sabha Election -2019. Subsequently, she briefed all the police personnel to perform their duties in an impartial and neutral manner and also directed them to adhere to the Model Code of Conduct strictly. Besides, she also held SAMPARK SABHA with the police personnel and briefed them about the recent vulnerable security scenario and instructed them to prepare themselves from anti-terror angle. She also took stock of disaster preparedness in view of recent earthquake jolts in Great Nicobar Islands. The interaction session was concluded by the IGP by boosting up the morale of the Jawans, Superintendent of Police, Nicobar District said in a press release.
