Port Blair, July 23: The film “Gandhi the Mahatma” produced and directed by renowned film maker of Andaman, Mr. Naresh Chander Lal, Padmashree Awardee, has got “Special Jury Award 2018” at 1st Jharkhand International Film Festival.
Meanwhile, Mr. Naresh Chander Lal has congratulated all cast and crew members from Andaman and Mumbai and also to Mr. Rajesh Jais, who played the lead role of Gandhi.
The feature film was shot by cameraman Timmanna Hegde and has been cut to perfect pace and duration by the editor Peter Gundra. Pawan Kumar Sharma is Creative Supervisor.
Apart from its shooting at various picturesque places of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the film was also shot at Gandhi Ashram Seva Gram (Wardha).
Though in his life Gandhiji never visited Andamans, the Director has shown him visiting the islands after his death, on his birth anniversary and interacting with a group of four children in various locations of A & N Islands.
