Port Blair, July 06: MV Campbell Bay vessel, while leaving the Hut Bay Port early this morning, suffered serious damages on the front side plate after hitting the Jetty, due to sudden heavy wind.
As per information the vessel reached Hut Bay from Campbell Bay at 12.30 am and while leaving the port at 1.30 am this accident took place.
As per details, the plate of M V Campbell Bay suffered considerable damages in nearly one meter length area and hence the vessel was not allowed to sail back.
Meanwhile, as per villagers of Hut Bay, playing a very crucial role the SHO of PS Hut Bay, SI Saravanan managed to find a welder of Fire Service, who was present on the vessel and was coming to Port Blair.
With the help of welder and equipments from ALHW the vessel was repaired at Hut Bay and at around 2.00 PM today the vessel sailed for Port Blair. The public of Hut Bay appreciated the coordinated efforts of police and other department in this case.
