Port Blair , Jun 29: A 2.5 meters long crocodile has been sighted at Corbyon’s Cove area of Port Blair yesterday. On report when a quick Response Team (QRT) of forest Department reached the spot, they also spotted the Crocodile. Following which a watch has been maintained at the beach since then and tourist has been advised to stay away from costal area of Corbyon’s Cove.
The negative impact of crocodile is already visible in Andaman and Nicobar Island with tourist spots like Wandoor already witnessing a dip in tourists arrival and many other beaches tourists are not allowed to go for swim in sea, which is highly disappointing for guests as they come to Andaman for having fun in sea and beaches.
Hope the Administration will come up with a permanent solution to this problem very soon as this Crock issue is going to cause huge loss to Andaman tourist industry if tomorrow any tourist falls prey to these Salt water crocodile.
