Port Blair, Jan 23: The Founder President of Sudhanshubala Foundation Trust Mr. Bhabesh Majumder organized 121st birth centenary of Netaji Subhash Bose and prize distribution ceremony to the students of these islands who have participated in quiz and essay writing completions on the lives of great Heroes of India on 29 10 17 organized by the Foundation as a part of Help-education programme and motivate the students to have vast knowledge of our National freedom fighters, scientists and other great souls of India, at the Multipurpose hall of ALHW today at 11.00 AM. The program was chaired by Swami Amartyananda of RK Mission. The Member of Parliament of Maldaha South Mr. A H Khan Choudhury, Former Minister of State of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Founder President Mr. Bhabesh Majumder , P K Sarkar, advisor of Foundation and Dr Buddhadeb Banerjee, convener of Trust.
In his speech, Swami Amartyananda has briefed about the life of Netaji, his love for mother India and struggle to free India from the shackles of British rule. He has also appreciated the devotion of Mr. Bhabesh Majumder towards the upliftment of the society in many ways and love for the students.
The MP Mr. AH Khan Choudhury has dealt with the life, revolutionary zeal, secular out look, fighting spirit of Netaji and also recorded is appreciation towards the philanthropic activities of Mr. Bhabesh Majumder for whom helping the needy People, children /students and promote love and respect towards the Nation amongst the school students is next to godliness.
Every year he is taking full financial responsibilities of 12 needy but meritorious students of these islands and also of mainland to get admission in MBBS who fulfills the criteria fixed by the Trust with a hope that after they become doctors, they will give free medical services to poors at least for two years.
Mr. Bhabesh Majumder in his address said that wiping tears off the disadvantaged children /needy people and bring smile on their faces gives him a lot of satisfaction and a sense of purpose.
“The society has given me everything and now it’s my turn to repay in whatever best way I can do for the societies” said Mr. Majumder. He also said that since his birth he follows the foot print of Netaji and other great sons of India and got inspiration from them to contribute his mite towards the development of indian societies.
Mr. PK Sarkar and Dr Banerjee also spoke on the occasion.
Instant quiz competition was also organized for teachers, guardians and students which was conducted by Mr. Dinesh Kumar Singh of Education Deptt., who also conducted the whole program
In essay competition Rumi Ali ,class IX,. Carmel Sr Sec School, Riya,class X, Vitala Public School, Shinoj,class XI, Kamraj English Med School (KEMS)and AP Wajida ,class XII of MES Azad Nagar won First prize and awarded with Laptops and Mementos, while Sneha Baby Mathew,class XI of KV 1,A Adnan,class X,MES Azadnagar,Asmita Garami,class XI,Nirman Sr Sec School and P Chandni Priya, class XII ,VKV won second position and awarded with desktops and Mementos. Third prize a TAB and Mementos won by Subham Joydhar,class XI,M Pooja,class X, Dweepika Burman,class XI and T Harshavardhini,class XII of VKZP, Crescent Pub School, Nirmala Sr Sec school and KEM School respectively.
In quiz competition, Vicky Mishra,Abhishek Paul, Shruti Singh and R Jyoti of Navy Children School won first position and awarded Laptops and Mementos while G Swati, Sherin Jonson, D Dharini and T Uday Kumar of Model Sr Sec School won second position and awarded Desktops and Mementos. Third position was secured by K Shabheha Khadeeja, MT Mohd Ishaque, Pratiksha Pandey and PK Md Ismail of IQRA public school and awarded TABS and Mementos.
Vitala public school, Crescent public school and Govt Model Sr Secondary achieved first, second and third positions for the overall perfomance of their students and received cash prize of 3,2 and 1 lakhs respectively
The convener of the Trust Dr Buddhadeb Bandopadhyay at the outset welcomed the dignitaries and gathering. Briefing the activities of the Trust in AN Islands he told that Founder President Mr. Majumder’s philanthropic activities are not confined to Andamans alone. He has also thanked to AN Administration, teachers, students, guardians ,ALHW and media persons.
