Port Blair, June 25: Passengers travelling to Kadamtala in STS Bus on 24 June had to go through horrible experience. According to passengers the unprofessional approach of STS department caused great inconvenience to them.
The Kadamtala Express started nearly 25 to 30 minutes late from the Bus Terminus. When enquired it was learnt that the STS had sent an alternative bus as the actual bus had got flat tyres.
But to the dismay of passengers the alternate bus also gave up very soon. At Ferrargunj the second bus ran out of fuel, leaving all passengers once again stranded.
When a SOS message was sent to Port Blair the original Kadamtala Express Bus was again sent for Kadamtala from Port Blair after replacing the flat tyre.
Because of this unprofessional approach, passengers, who were scheduled to reach Kadamtala at 9.00 AM, finally reached the Island at 12.00 noon.
This is just an example how carelessly the Transport Department is running busses of State Transport Services, for which hundreds of passengers are suffering on daily basis.
