Islands Marine Fishing rules, fishermen advised

Port Blair, Aug.03: All fishers of the Islands have been advised to abide by the Provisions of Andaman & Nicobar Islands Marine Fishing Rules. The non motorized and motorized non mechanical boats (with engines of 30HP or less) have been strictly advised to fish only in Zone A, i.e. from 0 to 6 Nautical Miles from the appropriate Base line and motorized mechanical fishing boats to fish only in Zone B i.e. 6 to 12 Nautical miles. Port Blair, Aug.03: All fishers of the Islands have been advised to abide by the Provisions of Andaman & Nicobar Islands Marine Fishing Rules. The non motorized and motorized non mechanical boats (with engines of 30HP or less) have been strictly advised to fish only in Zone A, i.e. from 0 to 6 Nautical Miles from the appropriate Base line and motorized mechanical fishing boats to fish only in Zone B i.e. 6 to 12 Nautical miles.  It has been observed that on several instances, the fishermen of these Islands violate the Provisions of Andaman & Nicobar Islands Marine Fishing Rules. Even few fishermen are also found venturing into the Prevention of Aboriginal Tribes (PAT) Regulated areas.  Action will be taken as per the Provisions of the Andaman and Nicobar Marine Fishing Regulation and Rules framed there-under against any fishers found violating the above Rules.
