Violation of Right to Education Act?

Diglipur, June 14: Right to Education is now a days the loud slogan of Govt. of India, that is compulsory education & meals for children up to 16 years, but in Andaman Right to Education Act is yet to yield any fruit.
The glaring example of mismanagement of Department of Education can be seen in Diglipur Island, where, in last and current year five schools have been upgraded to middle school but till date not a single GTT teacher has been sent to these schools.
At Shanti nagar, the whole school in managed by only one PST, in Smith Island school two PSTs are running the show. It is the more or less situation in Khudirampur, Milangram & Hathi level Schools where not a single GTT has been sent. While as per the norms of the RTE the PST is trained to impart education up to the primary (to teach up to 5th class) only but in remote Islands these norms are openly violated .
The Department of Education strictly implementing the rule of CTET as per RTE but at the same time they are also violating the RTE by posting PSTs, where GTTs are required. According to RTE every teacher should be a CTET qualifier whereas in the last two years only 12 teachers have qualified through CTET, so there is a dearth of teachers in Andaman Islands
“It seems that future of thousands of students in dark as they are not getting proper education in their school. The administration should think of the student’s future and consider the ease of CTET rule,” said a PRI member of Diglipur Island.
