Kadamtala, July 27: A 1.5 meter crocodile entered into a pond situated just in front a house at Phooltala yesterday, leaving residents deeply shocked, as the sea is very far from the area.
It is learnt that a person saw a Crocodile entering into the pond after which he immediately informed the house owner as well as the authorities in the Forest Department.
On information a team of forest Department reached the area this morning and put all its effort to catch the Crocodile but failed to catch it. Later two staffs were sent from Port Blair to Phooltala to catch the Crocodile.
As per sources, later in the evening after pumping out the water from the pump with the help of Fire Brigade the 1.5 meter long Crocodile was rescued and later was released in the wildlife sanctuary.
