Port Blair, June 26: It seems that the crimes are on the rise in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Sadly a good number of cases of heinous crimes against women, especially children are being reported from various parts of these Islands.
As per sources, a 13 year old girl was picked up from Nayagaon this evening at around 4.30 pm by some unknown person in an Omni, when she came out to buy some snacks.
Later the girl somehow managed to free herself by late evening. The girl later met a person at Chatham and requested him to contact Police for help.
The parents of the girl had already reported missing report at PS Aberdeen by 7.30 pm when the girl did not return home. Just when the team of PS Aberdeen was ready to launch a search operation, a call regarding rescue of the girl by PS Chatham came.
This is yet not clear that why she was picked up by unknown person and what was the intension behind such act. It is also not clear how the girl managed to free herself from the person, who picked her up. When the last report poured in investigating team was recording the statement of the girl.
