Port Blair, May 31: A retaining wall constructed close to a government quarter at Goal Ghar today collapsed, triggering panic among the residents of the building.
As per reports, no injuries have been reported in the incident.
The incident left people of the government quarter deeply shocked according to them the retaining wall has been constructed just two years back.
The ward councilor Mrs. Protima Banerjee also visited the spot where she pointed out the faults in the construction of the wall.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, Mrs. Protima Banerjee demanded a thorough inquiry in this regard.
However, the residents of the government quarter requested the administration to re-construct the retaining wall as soon as possible, so that they can sleep peacefully on rainy days.
