Port Blair, February 10: The initiative taken up by the former Director General of Police to depute the police personnel at Govind Ballabh Pant, Hospital weekly thrice for helping the patients, worked wonder for many.
As per reports, the “Police Helping Hand” at G B Pant hospital started with the initiative of the DGP, Andaman & Nicobar Islands from 20.07.2015, which continued till 04.01.2016, had yielded wonderful results especially for some bed-ridden patients.
As per reports, the from 1st to 19th batch, which were deputed in the Hospital whose Assistant Course Coordinator was Sub-Inspector S Babu, had helped a lot of patients, especially those who are bed ridden.
The team during the period gave all necessary support let it be clothes, Food, Powder, Spray and even some cash to the four bed ridden patients of Male Orthopedic Ward. Some are even extending their help now, when there is no such requirement, officially.
According to the medical staffs of G B Pant nearly 4 bed ridden patients who were alone in the hospital got a lot of moral support from the Police Personnel. Staff Nurse added that out of these four patients two are already discharged.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, Sub-Inspector S Babu recently said that the family of the four bed ridden patients left them alone and looking at that he and his team supported them in every possible way.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, two of the bed ridden patient who are still admit in the Male Orthopedic Ward said that they are still calling Mr Babu whenever they want some help and whatever they are asking from him they are still getting it.
