Port Blair, Oct 18: A two and half year old boy and his one and half year old brother drowned in the well when they were playing in their village, Manglutan, South Andaman this morning.
The victims were identified as Christopher Paul (2.5 years) and Stalin (1.5 years). Their father is a regular Mazdoor in Forest Department.
According to reports in the morning, they were playing around their house and when they could not be located for a long time people started looking for the kids. Finally when their slippers were located inside an open well, people jumped inside the well and recovered the bodies.
The father of the kids had come to Port Blair for offering prayers while the mother was reported cooking food when the incident took place.
On humanitarian ground the bodies of the babies were not sent for post mortem. The bodies will be taken to Car Nicobar tomorrow for cremation.
The tragic incident came as a big shock for the people of the region. The DC, South Andaman and Dy.S.P of the area visited the site.
I feel very bad after hearing d incident. Children are innocent.
