Port Blair, September 10: Clarifications from the Andaman Nicobar Command, about discrepancies in recruitment process of Lower Divisional Clerks in the Naval Component Unit, didn’t go down well with most of the people and candidates, who appeared for the examination. Even former defense officers are not impressed with the clarification.
According to public, there are a lot of gaps in the clarification given by the ANC. Experts say that, the written test qualified list should have contained the names of all qualified candidates in the written test without withholding any names.
Secondly, if the ANC had to withhold the names of ex-servicemen, then the ANC should have mentioned it earlier to avoid any doubt among others.
“Ex-servicemen category has 10% of reservation and therefore there was no reason for withholding their names,” Retired Colonel K V Cherian told Channel One News today.
However, some candidates questioned the ANC that if they have not favoured candidates of a particular region than why the centre of both mainlander and local were separate at the time of written examination.
“Why the interview for mainland and local candidates were conducted separately?” questions a candidate.
Andaman Sheekha also learnt that many candidates went to meet the Deputy Commissioner yesterday and requested him to re-conduct the examination.
They also demanded the Administration to conduct the exam as they don’t have faith in ANC.
