Port Blair, April 27: The Director of Health Services, Dr Shipra Paul after taking over the charge of DHS, visited North & Middle Andaman by road and visited all the PHCs and UHCs to understand the problems being faced by staffs of Health Department.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, Dr Shipra Paul recently said that during her visit he came to know about some problems regarding CL, CCL and travelling being faced by DHS staffs, following which she has taken some decisions to sort out these issues.
“I said the staffs that the MoIC of any hospital is the incharge and he is going to do everything for you because it is his hospital and he knows how to run the show, and if MOIC faces any problem then he can approach the higher authority,” Dr Paul said.
Further she added that MOICs are authorized to sanction 3 day CL and 45 day CCL.
“One more thing staffs who used to come to Port Blair were asked to go back same day, therefore now I have given them two days time to stay in Port Blair meet their kids, family etc but he or she should be back on the third day,” the DHS added.
She said that the MOIC will have to manage the gap in his hospital during this leave by internal arrangements.
