Port Blair, Jan 12: A leatherback turtle which reached the Corbyn’s Cove beach yesterday night for egg laying was rescued by forest department officials of Central Mobile squad. According to report the turtle was sighted at 10.30 pm.
Earlier in many occasions in past people have seen turtle reaching Corbyn’s Cove beach by mistake, where they face danger from stray dogs. Considering the egg laying season the forest department must keep 24 hours monitoring of the beach so that turtle reaching Corbyn’s Cove beach could be shifted to safe location.
