Murder weapon still untraced: Venkat in PC Sirisha in JC remand
Staff Correspondent
Port Blair, Mar 29: The Andaman and Nicobar Police Department seems to have won heart of Islanders by solving the sensational Gopi Murder Case. Not only General Public but also the Member of Parliament today lauded the efforts of Andaman and Nicobar Police, specially SHO PS Aberdeen, N S Stalin and his team during a press conference this morning.
The family members of P Gopi have already expressed their gratitude towards A & N Police for arresting the people, who had killed Gopi.
Though the case initially looked like a hit and run case but call details of a few had cleared all doubts over the fact that this was actually a cold blooded murder.
For Stalin’s PS Aberdeen team, which was supervised by SP South Andaman, Mr. SBS Tyagi and ASP South Andaman Mr. Chinmoy Biswal it took just three days to solve the blind murder case.
Though unsolved cases like Sarada Murder Case, ( at Minnie Bay), Mohan Murder Case ( near Girls’ School) and the murder case of Austinabad, where a chopped body was found in a gunny bag, had upset Islanders, the Gopi Murder case has brought some solace for Islanders.
Meanwhile, both Venkat and Sirisha were produced to CJM Court today, from where Venkat was sent to Police Remand for three days while Sirisha was sent to Judicial Custody for 14 days.
However it seems that Gopi Murder Case also has some twists and hope A & N Police will be able to solve the entire puzzle soon.
Still A & N Police could not find the murder weapon, which will be crucial for police department to prove Venkat guilty in court. As per Venkat, he had dropped the thick Steel Rod (used for bending steel rods) into the sea, infront of Suryachakra Power Plant after committing the murder but even after searching for the same for entire day yesterday, by divers of Marina Police, the murder weapon could not be recovered. Even metal detectors failed to find the thick Steel Rod.
Moreover, Police had initially picked up total three men and one woman for hatching the conspiracy but till now only two persons have been arrested by police. The role of other two persons is still not known. Hope the picture will become crystal clear in coming days.
