Three short films in just two years

Port Blair, Mar 16: Film-making is the new buzz in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. 10 years back there was hardly any local movie but now more than dozens of local low-budget movies have produced in these far flung Islands.
S M Kumareshan is the new chip on the block but among all local movie makers, Kumareshan stands tall as his short films not only entertain but also leave a social message for general public.
Kumerashan, who is running is finance firm, is alls et to release his first short feature film Nalaya Seidhe, which means ‘Tomorrow’s News’. The Story and Screenplay has been written by him. Kumerashan himself directed the film while S P Somasundaram has produced the movie.
Produced at the modest cost of nearly Rs. 3 Lakhs the one hour long short film is all about some local youths who do not get job on time and indulge themselves in anti-social activities.
Local artists Ruban and Guru have played the lead charectors in the film, which doesn’t have any lead female artist.
Besides this short film, on social issues, Kumareshan have made two other short films Talai Magan and Urau Kalin Mozhi which are of five minutes and three minutes duration.
Though the movie has been completely shot in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the editing and dubbing works were carried out in professional studios of Chennai.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha Kumereshan said that he wishes to release this movie at Port Blair on the first week of April 2012. “From childhood I wanted to make movie and hence I gave my best in this short film,”
The film has been censored from Central Board of Film Certification, last month and was categorized as short feature film. All artists of the movie have kept their fingers crossed as more than money they are willing to show their talent to the world. “Hope people of these Islands will love the film,” Kumereshan added.
