A 10 days long workshop on Hindi Language for GTT Hindi teachers began at the Conference Hall of the Education Office at Car Nicobar yesterday. Inaugurating the Workshop, the Assistant Commissioner Mr. Amit Kumar hoped that the workshop would give opportunity to devise strategy in language teaching, keeping in mind the existing environment of the locality.
The Principal of the Govt. SSS. Malacca Smti Sangeeta Chand while welcoming the Guests said that there are a lot of challenges in teaching languages in the Schools of this region. She called upon the Teachers to make use of the Workshop so that the language teaching in the Schools can be made more effective.
Talking about the activities of the Central Hindi Institute, Prof. Hemraj Meena from Central Hindi Institute Cnetre Bangalore said that apart from conducting the workshops on Hindi, the Institute offers many Courses also. He informed that around 8 thousands foreigners have learnt Hindi so far through the different courses. Mr. Meena said the Institute has also taken the responsibility of translating the Literatures of the regional languages of North East into Hindi.
Giving details about the contents of the Workshop, Professor Y. Shakuntalamma informed that the teaching in the Schools should be activity based in the present CCE pattern and the workshop would explore the possibilities of making Hindi teaching more interesting among the Students.
Dr. Anita Ganguly expressed her happiness for organising the workshop in this remote district, and hoped that they too might get the opportunity to understand the Educational Scenario of the Schools of this Tribal region.
The Education Officer Mr. H. Nathaniel was also present on the occasion.
