Rangat Bay, Oct 18: Though situation is normalizing fast in Cyclone hit Middle Andaman region but three people still remain missing in Middle Andaman region. According to reports two fishermen Juren Sarder, 65 years, and Benadic Kerketta, 62 years, from Rangat Bay village of Rangat Area, had gone for fishing on 7th October 2013 in one dinghy and were supposed to come back on 8th October 2013.
But when they did not return even on 9th October 2013, their family members reported this matter to Police. The District Administration, Police and Coast Guard are already conducting search in nearby area and today the Lt. Governor has also issued directions to review their search efforts.
Another report of missing is coming from Webi village of Middle Andaman, from where a 15 years old girl is said to be missing since the 10 October 2013. According to Thompson, the Pradhan of Rampur Village the Girl, Naw Khusay, Daughter of Saw Toothaw, resident of
Khara Nallah, Webi was last seen near a nallah and villagers believe that she was washed away by the heavy flow of water.
On one hand the Administration is busy in patting its own back for great efforts in Disaster Management, on the other hand such crucial news of people remain missing was not shared with local media and general public till 18th October 2013. Infact during entire crisis period the Administration maintained distance from local media, for which public in A & N Islands largely remain ill-informed and confused.
