Betapur, Jul 8: Recently Andaman Sheekha had recently reported that students of Billyground region protesting against the Directorate of Education for non-availability of Arts stream in English medium in any nearby school. On a major announcement the Director of Education through telephonic call ordered the Principal, Govt. Senior Secondary School, Swadeshnagar to start Grade XI (Arts) in English medium in their school.
Following this order the Principal GSSS, Swadeshnagar started taking admissions and till Saturday evening almost 16 students have enrolled themselves. The student, parent community of the locality expressed their heartfelt gratitude towards Mr. Jitender Gupta, DEO, Rangat and Mr. N.K. Bhuinya, Principal, GSSS Swadeshnagar for convincing the higher authorities for opening Arts stream in English Medium in the school.
Pradhan, Harinagar Gram Panchayat, Basantipur Gram Panchayat, Swadeshnagar Gram panchayat also expressed their gratitude towards the Director of Education and Secretary Education for giving importance to demands of the students and parents.
