Sri Vijaya Puram, Apr 20: As part of the nationwide Fit India Movement, the “Sundays on Cycle” campaign was successfully organised today by the Sports Authority of India (SAI), Sri Vijaya Puram, in coordination with Nehru Yuva Kendra, Sri Vijaya Puram.
Around 20 enthusiastic cyclists participated in the event, which began from Flag Point, passed through Carbyn’s Cove Road, continued along Marina Park, and culminated at Netaji Stadium. The campaign aimed to promote fitness awareness and encourage regular physical activity among youth and the general public.
Mr. Mohammed Parvez, General Manager, ANIIDCO, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and also joined the cycle rally, motivating participants by personally taking part in the ride.
Mr. Anand Rao, retired police officer, also addressed the gathering and stressed the importance of maintaining good physical health, especially among youth, for a disciplined and active life.
Earlier, Mr. Gopal Ch. Biswas from Nehru Yuva Kendra welcomed the participants and spoke on the objectives of the campaign, which is to strengthen community participation and promote health through cycling.
Mrs. Debasmita Bal, Assistant Director, SAI, addressed the youth on the significance of staying fit and adopting daily fitness habits. She concluded the event with a vote of thanks, appreciating all stakeholders for their cooperation and participation.
The campaign ended on an enthusiastic note, reinforcing the message: “Fitness ki Dose, Aadha Ghanta Roz.”
