Diglipur, Mar 31: Call it a fate or sheer bad-luck that the original driver of the ill fated truck, which turned turtle at Diglipur on Friday killing eight people, had chosen to leave the driver’s compartment and sit with other labourers, over the heap of pulverized sand.
The original driver of the truck Mr Binoy died on the spot while another driver, Vijay, who was forced to drive by Binoy, survived the accident miraculously.
According to reports, Binoy, who hails from Billyground was living at Radha Nagar Village of Diglipur and drove the truck from Shyam Nagar quarry to Radha Nagar Junction. After having tea at Radha Nagar Binoy asked Vijay to drive the truck as he was not in a mood to drive.
When Vijay refused Binoy reportedly became angry and virtually forced Vijay to drive the truck. Giving keys to Vijay Binoy sat with other labourers over the heap of pulverised dusts.
Meanwhile, Vijay, who was arrested by Police, could not produce his original license till now. Police is investigating whether Vijay was having any fake license.
