Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan. 31: Orientation session was conducted for the Block Staff and Self-Help Group (SHG) members for implementing Integrated Farming Cluster (IFC) under the Mahila Kisan Shashakti Karan Pariyojna (MKSP). The training was held on Jan. 30 & 31, 2025 at the Directorate of Rural Development (RD), Marine Hill.
Under the IFC project, key activities such as Poultry and Goatry in C.D. Block Prothrapur and Ferrargunj, Fisheries in C.D. Block Rangat and Mayabunder, and Dairy activities in Diglipur will be promoted. The training focused on providing Block staff and SHG members with detailed guidance for successfully implement and scale these activities through handholding support from the relevant line Departments. These efforts aim to uplift SHG members, enhance their income, and scale the activities by utilizing Government schemes and resources effectively. The training also included insights on how integrating these farming activities will strengthen women’s roles in agriculture and allied sectors, ensuring their active participation in decision-making and improving their economic standing.
During the event, Ms. Sapna Priya, Director (RD), encouraged the staff and SHG members to approach the program with great enthusiasm and dedication, emphasizing the potential of the initiative to create meaningful improvements in livelihoods and promote sustainable economic development in the region as successful implementation of IFC-MKSP would greatly enhance local capacity, foster entrepreneurship, and improve financial inclusion for rural communities.
The training was led by Ms. Reshma Singh, SPM-Livelihood, ANIRLM who provided in-depth insights into the program’s structure and its importance in improving the livelihoods of rural communities.
The training concluded with a commitment to working together to achieve the goals of the program, ensuring better livelihood opportunities for the rural SHG members.
