Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 31: The District Administration, South Andaman in its continuous efforts to preserve community spaces and to ensure lawful use of public property has been keeping strict vigil and monitoring and government land is being restored back from encroachment by unscrupulous elements in past few days in South Andaman District.
The Revenue officials in Sri Vijaya Puram tehsil evicted encroachment in the form of tin shed over government revenue land situated at Calicut village. A total area of 200 Sq. Mtr of land was restored to its original status.
Similarly, in Hutbay village, an encroachment on government revenue land in the shape of fencing was cleared, and an area of 900 Sq. Mtr. of land has been successfully reclaimed and restored to the Government Khata.
The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman cautioned the General Public to refrain from encroaching on Government land and that the District Administration has zero tolerance towards encroachment on government land and it shall uphold the interest of law against encroachers and serious action shall be fixed upon those supporting the encroachers.
