Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 20: It is a matter of great honour for Smti Tapasi Saha, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Chouldari, South Andaman and Smti Jyothi, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Sippighat, South Andaman, who have been invited as Special Guests for participation in Republic Day Celebration on 26th January, 2025 at New Delhi.
Speaking to Andaman Sheekha Daily, Smti Tapasi Saha, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Chouldari said that Andaman Nicobar State Water and Sanitation Mission has approved the participations of these two PRI Members (Pradhans) as Special Guests for participation in Republic Day Celebration on 26th January, 2025 at New Delhi.
In an effort to enhance public participation in national events, around 10,000 special guests have been invited to witness the 76th Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path, New Delhi, on January 26, according to a press release. These guests, celebrated as the “architects of Swarnim Bharat,” come from diverse backgrounds and are recognized for their remarkable contributions to various government schemes.
Elaborating her contributions and achievements in the Central Govt.’s Scheme- Jal Jeevan Mission, Smti Tapasi Saha, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Chouldari got three numbers of ponds of different sizes dug in different villages under her Panchayat and water is being reportedly pumped out from these ponds and supplied to these villages which were being reportedly affected by the dearth of water especially during the summer season, she said. One such pond is in Badmash Pahad, other one is near Blooms Dale School in Nimboo Bagicha and another pond is also in Badmash Pahad and its work is in progress for supplying water from it.
Earlier people used to get water once in a week, and now they are getting water after every two days in sufficient quantity, she claimed, and it is a great achievement made possible only because of the implementation of the central govt.’s scheme of Jal Jeevan Mission, she further claimed. The work on one more pond in Bachra Pahad is underway, she further claimed.
Similarly, Smti Jyothi, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Sippighat also proved herself an architect of JJM and achieved success after proper implementation of the central govt.’s scheme of Jal Jeevan Mission, she said. A large section of people of different areas under her Panchayat got benefitted in getting access to water satisfactorily, she further said. Both the Pradhans are leaving for New Delhi shortly for participating in the grand event, they asserted.
