Campbell Bay, Jan 17: Government Senior Secondary School Vijay Nagar, Campbell Bay, successfully hosted its 12th Annual Athletic Meet at the school playground.
Morning Session
The morning session commenced with the opening ceremony, where Smt. Sulekha VP, Principal, Government Senior Secondary School Vijay Nagar, welcomed the chief guest, Mr. E S Rajesh, Pramukh, Campbell Bay, and special guest Mr. Satnam Singh, HM(P) (Retd). The event was attended by officials from various schools, parents, teachers, and students.
The march past by students of Dagmar and Jubilee House was followed by the inauguration by the chief guest, Mr. E S Rajesh. Ms. Aishwarya took the oath, pledging to respect the regulations and maintain the spirit of sportsmanship.
Cultural Activities and Track Events
The event featured a range of cultural activities, including lezim dance, scarf drill, aerobics, and yoga demonstrations by students. Various track events were organized for different age groups:
– Pre-primary and primary students: frog race, biscuit race, collect the ball and run, shuttle run, 75m sprint race, book balance, and cock fight.
– Upper primary students: 100m sprint race, sack race, cock fight, shuttle run, and spoon marble race.
– Secondary and senior secondary students: sprint race, shot put, and relay race.
All students participated in these activities with great enthusiasm and motivation. Winners were awarded prizes and medals by the dignitaries present.
Afternoon Session
The afternoon session commenced with the closing ceremony, where the Vice Principal, Smt. Sulekha, welcomed the chief guest, Mr. Shekhar Rai, BDO, Campbell Bay, guest of honor Smti A Manjula AE, APWD, special guest Mr. Ajay Seth, GTT GSS Gandhinagar, and other invited dignitaries.
The afternoon session featured a fancy dress competition, events for CWSN students, and open-to-all sports events for male and female participants.
Prize Distribution and Conclusion
Trophies for individual championships were awarded to students who excelled in sports events at various levels. The overall champion was declared to be Jubilee (Yellow) House.
The event concluded with the retreat of the school flag, handover to the head of the institution, and declaration of the meet closed by the chief guest.
The day ended with a vote of thanks proposed by the senior-most PGT of the school, followed by the national anthem.
