Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 13: In celebration of National Youth Day on 12th January, 2025, which honors the birthday of Swami Vivekananda, the Indian Coast Guard Station Mayabunder, in partnership with Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram and the Andaman and Nicobar Police, conducted a Medical Camp and Community Engagement Program at Austin 2 village, Mayabunder. The event was officially inaugurated by Commandant SK Lawrence, the commanding officer of ICGS Mayabunder, along with Mr. Muthukumar, Vice President of Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, Mr. Ram Kumar Singh, District Secretary of Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram and Dr. Priyanka Iqbal, Medical Officer Ayurveda from Dr. RP Hospital, Mayabunder. During the program, A&N Police representatives ASI Nirmala Kerketta and Head constable Arodi Das educated the participants about the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, emphasizing on POCSO cases and their legal ramifications. The Coast Guard Wives Welfare Association, known as “Tatrakshika,” also contributed to the event by delivering a medical lecture on ‘Women Hygiene’ and distributing First Aid Kits to the villagers. The medical camp served a total of 89 villagers, offering free Ayurvedic and Allopathic medications.
