Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan. 2: The Hon’ble Prime Minister has launched a nationwide campaign ‘DKPP Abhiyan (Desh Ka Prakriti Parikshan Abhiyan)’ on 26th November to 25th December across the UT. ‘The DKPP Abhiyan’ led by the Ministry of AYUSH and managed by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicines (NCISM), focuses on identifying an individual’s unique mind-body constitution or Prakriti based on Ayurvedic principles of Vata, Pitta, Kaphadoshas.
This campaign highlights Ayurveda’s time-tested practices for maintaining balance, promoting wellness and strengthening the body’s natural resilience. Based on Prakriti, every person’s lifestyle recommendations that include daily routines, dietary advice, exercise, yoga and seasonal adjustments can improve overall health and prevent imbalances before they become health issues. By understanding Prakriti, a person can adopt practices that fit unique nature and improve quality of life.
In A&N Islands, the first phase of ‘DKPP Abhiyan’ has been successfully implemented by AYUSH Wing of DHS and ANSAS, National AYUSH Mission. Prakriti Assessment camps were conducted in various Offices, Colleges, Schools and Institutions (i.e. Health, Municipal, Secretariat, Transport, A&N Police, APWD, Van Sadan, Banks, Police Training School, ANIIMS, School of Nursing, CRU-CCRH, ICAR-CIARI, DBRAIT, ANCOL, JNRM etc). The Prakriti Assessment was done and Prakriti Certificates along with personalized advices were provided to 8477 people through various AYUSH Units functioning under Health Department across the Islands.
At the end of first phase of campaign, the per Doctor Strike rate of Prakriti Assessments in UT of A & N Islands was 336.46 which stands highest among the States and UTs of the country. The NCISM, the Central Nodal Agency has congratulated the UT AYUSH team for the achievement.
The campaign was coordinated by Dr. Rekha, Panchakarma Specialist (NAM), State Coordinator, Desh Ka Prakriti Parikshan Abhiyan under the guidance of Dr. Kalyan P. Kadbhane, DD, AYUSH.
