Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec 27: Dr. Manmohan Singh, Former Prime Minister of India, passed away on December 26, 2024. In response, Mr. Rangalal Halder, President of the Andaman and Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC), expressed profound sorrow and extended heartfelt condolences to Dr. Singh’s family. He lauded Dr. Singh’s exceptional contributions to India’s economic development and his unwavering dedication to public service, noting that his visionary leadership and integrity have left an indelible mark on the nation. Mr. Halder emphasized that Dr. Singh’s legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
In honor of Dr. Singh’s memory, the Government of India has declared a seven-day state mourning period from December 27, 2024. During this time, the national flag will be flown at half-mast, and official events will be suspended as a mark of respect.
