Mayabunder, Dec, 22: Dr. Chandra Bhushan Kumar, IAS, Chief Secretary, Andaman and Nicobar Administration, made his maiden visit to Mayabunder today. During his visit, he undertook a series of engagements aimed at understanding the region’s developmental needs and addressing local concerns.
The Chief Secretary commenced his visit by touring Aves Island, one of the 4-Island Project site, which holds significant promise for the economic and infrastructural development of the region along with the Deputy Commissioner, North and Middle Andaman, Ms. Nandini Maharaj, IAS, Divisional Forest Officers, Assistant Commissioners and Sub- Divisional Police Officers of the district. The Chief Secretary also held a meeting with members of Panchayati Raj Institutions of the district. During the interaction, the Chief Secretary attentively listened to the grievances and issues raised by the representatives, assuring them of timely resolution and effective administrative support to address their concerns.
As part of his visit, the Chief Secretary inaugurated the newly constructed 20-bedded boys’ hostel at Govt. Model Senior Secondary School, Mayabunder. This facility aims to enhance educational opportunities and provide better accommodation for students, particularly those from remote areas. The Chief Secretary expressed his commitment to the holistic development of the region and emphasized the Administration’s focus on ensuring infrastructure development, improving educational facilities, and addressing public grievances.
The visit reflects the Administration’s dedication to fostering growth and development in the district.
