Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov 29: BAANI (Bengal Association of Andaman and Nicobar Islands) proudly announces the 8th Bongo Mahasammelan, a grand event commemorating the Platinum Jubilee (75 years) of Bengali settlement in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, set to take place on December 1, 2024, at Radhagovinda Mandir, Jodacannal, Sippighat, from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
This historic occasion will bring together Bengalis from across the Islands to honor their cultural heritage and legacy. Discussions will address pressing issues faced by the community, with an emphasis on identifying challenges and proposing effective solutions.
The Bongo Mahasammelan will be graced by the esteemed presence of Shri Santanu Thakur, Hon’ble Minister of State for Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, Government of India, New Delhi. A prominent leader and advocate for the welfare of the Matua community, Shri Thakur has been instrumental in driving initiatives to improve connectivity and infrastructure across the nation.
Adding further significance to the event, Hon’ble MP Shri Bishnu Pada Ray will also grace the Mahasammelan. Shri Bishnu Pada Ray’s presence underscores the importance of this event in strengthening community ties and addressing key issues faced by the population in the region.
