Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov 24: During the three days visit to North & Middle Andaman, the Secretary (Social Welfare), Mr. L Kumar, IAS, A & N Administration inaugurated three newly constructed Anganwadi Centres under UT Budget namely Kalara, Ganeshnagar – I & Ganeshnagar – II under ICDS Project (Rural) Diglipur, North & Middle Andaman today in the presence of Mrs. Pratima Roy, Pradhan, Nabagram Gram Panchayat, Mrs. Jayanti Jyoti, Zilla Parishad Member, Nabagram and general public.
The Secretary (Social Welfare) underlined the importance of community participation in supporting Anganwadi workers and ensuring that children benefit from these services. Collaboration between parents, community leaders, and the Government is essential for creating a strong support system for children’s holistic development.
The chief guest further highlighted the Government’s commitment to ensuring every child, especially in rural or underserved areas to receive adequate nutrition and education (Poshan Bhi – Padai Bhi).
Mrs. Indira Devi, Child Development Project Officer, Diglipur welcomed the gathering and appraised the support from the line Department and active participation of the community. She also explained about the contribution of the Anganwadi Centres in the village.
The Pradhan & Zilla Parishad members thanked the Secretary (Social Welfare) for fulfilling the long pending demand of Anganwadi Centre in the area. The vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs. Divya Raj, Mukhya Sevika.
