Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov 22: Heavy rain (07-11 cm) is likely to occur at one or two places over A&N Islands on Nov. 23, 24 & 25. An upper air cyclonic circulation over Equatorial Indian Ocean off Sumatra coast and adjoining South Andaman Sea has moved west northwestwards and now lies over east Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining South Andaman Sea extending upto mid tropospheric levels.
Under its influence, a low pressure area is likely to form over southeast Bay of Bengal around Nov. 23. Thereafter, it is likely to continue to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a depression over central parts of South Bay of Bengal during subsequent 2 days. Squally weather with wind speed 35 – 45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph is likely over South Andaman Sea, Nicobar Islands and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal on Nov. 23 and over Southeast Bay of Bengal, Andaman sea and A&N Islands till Nov. 26. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea along & off A&N Islands, Andaman Sea till Nov. 26.
