Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov 14: The Indo-Thai CORPAT has been a bi-annual fixture since 2005, demonstrating the enduring commitment of both nations to regional maritime security. As the 38th edition unfolds, it’s clear that this partnership will continue to play a vital role in maintaining peace and stability in the Indian Ocean. The 38th Indo-Thai Coordinated Patrol (CORPAT) is underway, strengthening maritime ties between India and Thailand! The Royal Thai Navy’s HTMS Krabi was warmly welcomed by the Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC) for this significant event.
The harbour phase kicked off with an opening ceremony and CORPAT plaque presentation to the Thai Navy, symbolizing the deepening cooperation between the two nations. But it’s not all work and no play! To foster camaraderie and build bridges between the nations, personnel from INS Karmuk and L 55 engaged in cross-deck visits, basketball matches, and even yoga sessions together.
This CORPAT is part of India’s SAGAR (Security And Growth for All in the Region) vision, aiming to enhance regional maritime security through bilateral and multilateral exercises, coordinated patrols, and humanitarian assistance. By working together, India and Thailand are promoting peace, stability, and prosperity in the Indian Ocean Region.
