Sri Vujaya Puram, Nov 13: The Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee President Mr.. Rangalal Halder has formally addressed a letter to the Chief Engineer, A & N Islands, highlighted the need to repair the damaged water pipelines that have disrupted essential water supply in the villages of Rampur, Karmatang, Mayabunder, Pokadera, and Webi at North Andaman.
In his letter, Mr. Halder underscored the severe impact the damaged pipeline has had on residents, noting that it has caused significant hardship by limiting access to clean and sufficient water for drinking, cooking, sanitation, and other daily needs. This issue, he said, is particularly alarming as it poses critical health and hygiene risks to the affected peoples.
Additionally, Mr. Halder raised concerns about the substantial water wastage caused by the pipeline damage, which, if left unchecked, could worsen potential water scarcity issues as water resources become even more strained
“Considering the essential nature of the water supply, immediate steps be taken to assess and repair the pipeline,” Mr. Halder stated in his appeal.
Mr. Halder further urges the Chief Engineer to prioritize this issue and implement prompt solutions to restore water access to the residents of North Andaman.
