Mayabunder, Nov 01: In a swift response to an accident involving a tagged cow in Ward No. 03, Pokadera, near the STS unit, the Assistant Commissioner and local veterinary team took immediate action after the incident was reported. The accident, which took place on October 31, 2024, left the cow injured on the roadside.
Upon being informed, Mr. Ashish Joon, Assistant Commissioner (HQ) at Mayabunder, and Mrs. Sujatha Hegde, Senior Veterinary Officer, N&M Andaman, quickly coordinated to address the situation. The injured cow, being temporarily cared for by nearby residents, required urgent medical attention. The reporting residents provided the cow’s tag number and photographs of its condition to assist authorities in identifying and locating the animal.
Thanks to the rapid intervention, a veterinary team arrived at the scene within an hour, providing immediate treatment and care to the injured cow. The coordinated efforts and prompt response by both the administration and veterinary staff were widely appreciated by residents.
Ex-Pramukh Abdul Siddique expressed his gratitude to Mr. Ashish Joon and Mrs. Sujatha Hegde for their swift assistance, which ensured the timely treatment of the injured animal.
