Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 27: A training programme for newly appointed Statistical Cadre Personnel on Survey Sampling Methodology was organized today by the Directorate of Economics & Statistics, Sri Vijaya Puram in collaboration with the National Sample Survey Office (Field Operations Division), Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation.
The Director of Economics & Statistics, Shri Gaurang Mishra, encouraged the participants to learn and clarify all doubts related to survey sampling methodology to be applied in various surveys. He emphasized on the critical role of survey sampling methodology in conducting sample surveys.
The technical session was conducted by the Resource Person, Shri Bappa Saha, (ISS), Assistant Director, Regional Office, FOD, NSO, MoSPI, Sri Vijaya Puram. He explained the sampling methods and techniques used in large-scale sample surveys through a detailed presentation. About 21 newly recruits of statistical cadre posted in different Departments attended the training programme.
The event concluded with vote of thanks by Shri D. S. Clement Stephen, Statistical Officer (HQ), who urged all participants to make the most of this training opportunity to help achieve the objectives of the upcoming 8th Economic Census.
