Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 27: The Chairman of ANTCC Campaign Committee Mr. TSG Bhasker has written a letter to the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration highlighting issues affecting the government servants of A&N Islands who have been posted or transferred to Nicobar Group of Islands.
In the letter, Mr. Bhasker stated that many employees are currently facing significant challenges related to their tenure periods, which are not being uniformly adhered to in various departments as many departments are extending postings beyond the established tenure of 1 to 2 years.
He added that in some departments transfer takes place in 2 year, in some it’s 3-4 year while in other departments it’s even more than 5 years. This practice not only demoralizes the employees but also impacts their mental well-being and family life.
“Such prolonged postings can lead to feelings of frustration and helplessness among employees, which ultimately affects their productivity and leads them to depression and addictions like drugs and alcohol” exhorted Mr. Bhasker.
Hence, he urged the Chief Secretary to address this issue at the earliest by implementing a standardized tenure policy and ensuring adherence to fixed tenures which will be helpful in improving the morale and well-being of government servants.
