Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 24: The Nehru Yuva Kendra, Car Nicobar in collaboration with District Administration, Nicobar District organized one day full Mega Program – Yuva Utsav : India@2047 at Priyadarshini Hall, Tamloo, Car Nicobar Island on 22/10/2024 with the aims to rekindle the spirit of patriotism and values of India’s Freedom Struggle by engaging the youth in various events progressing from District Level to State and National Levels. More than 350 youths have participated in the programme from various villages of Car Nicobar. On the occasion Mr. Sunny Gupta, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Nicobar District was the chief guest and other dignitaries Mr. Munner Ahmed, Assistant Commissioner (HQ), Car Nicobar, Mr. A. Maheswar Rao, Executive Engineer, APWD, Car Nicobar, Mr. H. Nathaniel, Education Officer, Car Nicobar, Mr. Eurularafan Forest Ranger were also present. The Chief guest inaugurated by lighting the lamp along with other guests present on the occasion and administered the Panch Pran Pledge. Earlier Mr. Alphonce Toppo (OSD). Nyk, Car Nicobar welcomed the chief guest, other guests and participants and briefed about the Yuva Utsav. The Chief Guest in his speech highlighted the importance of Panch Pran and youth’s role in Nation Building activities. He also lauded the effort in organizing the activities. The Chief Guest also inaugurated Science Mela and interacted with the participants of Science Mela. After inauguration of Science Mela the following competitive events were organized on the occasion:-
A. Science Mela Exhibition – Group and Individual Event B. Young Artists Camp – Painting : with the theme of Panch Prans C. Young Writers Camp – Poem : with the theme of Panch Prans
D. Photography Workshop : with the theme of Panch Prans E. Declamation Contest : with the theme of Panch Prans F. Cultural Festival – Group Events : folk dances and theme based dances
At the end of the Yuva Utsav certificates for First, Second and third of each event except Science Mela Competitive Event (Group and Individual) were distributed among participants by Mrs. Selvi, Principal (incharge), ITI, Arong and Mr. Edmond Partrick, Headmaster, GPS, Tapoiming. And prize money for Declamation Contest of 1st – 5000, 2nd 2500 and 3rd 1500, Cultural Festival (Group Events) of 1st – 7000, 2nd – 5000 and 3rd – 3000, Painting Contest, Photography Contest and Poetry Contest of 1st – 2500, 2nd – 1500 & 3rd – 1000 respectively will be directly credited into their account. Mr. Alphonce Toppo, Deputy Director (OSD), NYK, Car Nicobar proposed a vote of thanks to all.
