Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 24: The Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee President, Mr. Rangalal Halder, has formally addressed a letter to the Directorate of Health Services, bringing attention to two critical healthcare issues faced by patients at the Community Health Center (CHC) in Rangat.
In his letter, Mr. Halder highlighted the severe shortage of thyroid medication at CHC Rangat, a vital treatment for numerous patients managing thyroid-related conditions. “The unavailability of thyroid medication is causing serious health risks to many individuals dependent on daily treatment. It is imperative that the supply of these essential medicines be restored immediately to safeguard the health of these patients,” he emphasized.
Additionally, Mr. Halder raised concern about the Non-operational Thyroid checking Machine at the CHC. The malfunctioning equipment has left patients without the means to conduct regular thyroid function tests, essential for timely diagnosis and ongoing treatment.
Mr. Halder stated that “The inability to perform these tests locally is forcing patients to travel long distances, imposing both financial and logistical hardships on them.
He further requested for Urgent action to ensure that these critical services are available at CHC Rangat.
